Many geriatric care professionals turn to A Wiser Mind first when they see individuals and families in need of cognitive or emotional therapy. Since 2010, we’ve been providing unique and personalized treatment plans that improve the quality of life for our clients.
With a large network of licensed, experienced clinicians; we deliver in-home treatment programs to hundreds of active clients in Arizona and Colorado. Our research and experience has shown that “in-home” interventions using a robust, multi-modal approach produces consistently better outcomes especially in circumstances of chronic or co-occurring conditions than traditional “in-office” approaches. Our program is convenient, effective and meaningful for our clients.
Forming New Connections with Brain Activation TherapyOur Brain Activation Therapy (BAT) has improved cognition, strengthened confidence and enhanced quality of life in many of clients living with broad range of dementias, stroke effects and mild-to-moderate brain injury.
During treatment, the clinician works with the client to target a range of mental-processing elements such as: logic; reasoning; short-term, working and long-term memories; spatial awareness and orientation; visual acuity; perspective orientation; verbal, language, writing, math and social skills.
Unfortunately, dementia doesn’t occur by itself. It is often accompanied by one or more other mental-health conditions including depression, anxiety, adjustment disorder, panic disorder and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) as well as others.
Fortunately, these conditions have been shown to respond to not only pharmaceutical interventions, but also to psychosocial therapies to improve the client’s day-to-day experience and lessen symptoms of the targeted disorder. In fact, studies have shown that therapies like BAT actually enhance the effectiveness of pharmaceutical interventions. So, with BAT, there is no need to halt or alter your current drug regimen.
Our Psychosocial Therapies can be delivered in tandem with Brain Activation therapy to help clients dealing with both cognitive and emotional issues, or they can be delivered separately to improve the quality of life for clients coping only with emotional challenges.
